User Testing.......

So, after testing the site on several computers with different browsers, I have come to realize that our site is not up to par. I even asked several of my fellow peers and asking them what they thought of our page and the feedback were negative. Most said it was to cutesy, that it was not very entertaining. The site did not catch anyone's eye and felt that it was designed very poorly.

After carefully reviewing our page again. I felt that the footer background does not match that repeating background that we have. Also the log in box needs to be moved because it doesn't look like it goes in that area or at least it doesn't flow well. Overall I feel that this site needs a little bit more work to get to its finals stage.

This is my next post.... it is 3:40 and we are still in class and we are making better progress than I expected. We actually fixed most of the flaws that I stated above. We fixed the footer that I was talking about and replaced the box with a gradient that fades. Also the links were fixed as well they are also easy on the eyes. The home page is way better from before as well. The flickr widget fits the top spot very well and fills that space very well. My overall review of this page is that it has improved from where it was. I'm very pleased on how this page turned out.

Results on page.....

So, after looking at this site and working on it I feel as if we are not headed in the right path. Personally I feel like I am not drawn in by the page,I've also had fellow classmates look at the site and they were not drawn in as well. Overall, I given my feedback and still no response. At this point I would not put this in my portfolio.

MIDTERM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sooooo, today we are presenting to Michael Swank, our client. We have to organize our content and our mock up designs for today to show to our client. I feel like we are going to have a good day because our team is solid and everyone has done their part. Wish us luck....

Idea of what maybe our site should look.... or design style...

So I missed last week and felt really bad that I did not have some sort of design or set up of how our page should look like, but I have been doing some research and felt like our site should have that clean look and not too crazy although we are an Art School. Furthermore, I was wondering how our page would look like on wordpress since that is the way we are heading towards. So I looked at some themes to try and get some inspiration and I've listed below the links of maybe some ways we could possibly do our layout as. I understand we could do a lot to change these themes and that is the plan. I just felt by looking at these link of Wordpress themes could give us as a team an inspiration and move forward with the design.

The links posted above are some of the layouts I was thinking of doing with your guys approval..... Other than that I will not be missing anymore classes and am ready to contribute to this team..... Also I wanted to know what color schemes should we do... I was think red/white/black/ as it is AI's colors.... well I have more ideas that I would like to talk to the design team as well as the entire team.

Today in Production Planning class we talked about what a Functional Specifications is. As of right now all we know is that it is a time line or blue print that will keep a group organized. It helps groups figure out what they need to do and steps to take in order to approach the project.

So, I'm still trying to figure out this whole Microsoft Project and still can't figure out.... and the worst thing is it froze my computer a crap load of times.... soooooo I decided to uninstall that crap.... jesus.... it was bad enough that I was searching for this program to install it then it messes up my computer... but anyways i guess i will be messing around with this program at school... but i'm done for tonight.... peace
